"ECC--Never Compromising Safety,” a tagline created by our employee-owners, is more than a safety slogan to us--it’s a way of life. Safety is our highest priority at ECC and its importance is reflected through all organizational levels and in all operating standards. We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for employees, subcontractors, clients, and the public. ECC adheres to the strictest safety practices and enforces a “zero-tolerance” policy toward safety hazards. Everyone, from our corporate organization and field teams to our subcontractors, is responsible and accountable for safety.
ECC’s Safety and Health Organization oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of our operational training and field procedures. Our program emphasizes:- A structured safety organization both at the corporate and field levels
- Mandatory training that includes individual initial refresher training and daily field safety tailgate meetings for employees, subcontractors, and site visitors
- Individual focus on our Worker Involvement Now (WIN) program which increases employee awareness of the role they play in safety by recognizing employees for zero accidents and injuries
- Standard operating procedures enforced during field operations, frequent safety audits, and daily site meetings to review safety issues
- Development of site-specific safety and health plans for each individual project
- Near miss reporting to help identify potential incidents prior to any actual damage or injury
ECC has been recognized for safety with numerous awards, including 18 Perfect Record Awards, 12 Certificates of Merit, two Million Work Hours Awards, and two Milestone Awards from the National Safety Council, as well as VPP Star Site designations in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Guam, including OSHA Region 1’s VVP “Star Among Stars” award for ECC’s work at the Massachusetts Military Reservation.
