Giving Back to our SB Roots and the Communities We Serve
ECC has evolved from a small disadvantaged business to a very successful global company. Although no longer a small business, we take pride in maintaining our small business culture while applying our large business experience and capabilities. Our heritage provides us with a unique sensitivity to small and disadvantaged businesses and explains our success in engaging them in our projects. In our first year of eligibility as a large business, ECC was awarded three awards for small business participation and utilization: 1) the 2007 Inaugural Prime Subcontracting Award for subcontracting excellence with Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses; 2) the prestigious Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in the Service category; and 3) the Society of American Military Engineering (SAME) SB Award.
It is in ECC’s corporate culture to recognize and embrace the needs of the community in all of our projects and, where possible, to subcontract work to local small businesses to assist in their growth and prosperity. We will also mentor, train, and employ local small and disadvantaged businesses that are willing to productively assist us in meeting our clients’ objectives.
