Design and Construction of a New Department of State (DOS) US Embassy

ECC designed and constructed a new US Embassy involving the demolition of existing facilities and design-build phased construction of new facilities that allowed continuity of embassy operations including the availability of utilities. The project scope required robust protection measures for safety and security of US, local national, and third-country national employees within the compound. The new facilities included the 107,639-square-foot, four-story, blast-resistant, LEED Silver-certifiable New Office Building (NOB), comprised of general work areas, public access areas, Limited Access Areas, and a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF) including three controlled access facilities (CAA), both classified and unclassified; and a two-story Marine Security Guard Quarters. ECC achieved the National Safety Council One-Million Man Hours without a Lost Time Incident twice throughout the project.
